With locations across the the Lower Mainland, Sprott Shaw College, is a leading provider of over 100 career focused courses. This location was a flagship location, and was the first to launch their new name and branding.

This project is the result of discussions regarding whether the schools function was fulfilling its role within it’s community life. It was currently conventional in every way,  from closed small classrooms to small uninviting hallways. The design grew on the premise that the view of the Fraser River was to be available from each classroom, and the student space. The idea of making this space a place where students wanted to come for study sessions, socialization, and the development of friendships was achieved.

The New Westminster location’s program includes faculty and administrative offices, three classrooms, a computer lab, and an inviting student lounge which serves as the spaces main hub. Designed while working at Aura.

This project was nominated for a Royal City Builders Award.
